Ana Machado Stone Conservation Ltd is available for consultancy nationwide. We are able to work on a variety of objects from small artifacts to large outdoor monuments, both private and public. Most projects can be worked on in situ or be transported by us to our workshop in Auckland.

Some of the services we provide:

• Condition assessment report:  encompasses condition survey and photographic recording, deterioration causes, recommendations for repair and estimate of costs.
• Cleaning: techniques range from steam cleaning, low pressure water washing and where necessary chemical cleaning.
• Graffiti removal.
• Infilling / rebuild of surface losses by reversible processes.
• Consolidation of friable structures, cracks and fissures.
• Re-lettering applying reversible processes.
• Mortar repair to stone work.
• Re-pointing of stone joints.
• Carving and/or modelling of missing elements.
• Reproduction of art works through molding and casting.
• Packing, transport, storing and relocation of large sculptures or structures.

Below is a non exhaustive list of the conservation issues we can address:

• Biological soiling such as lichen, algae, fungi and bacteria.
• Non biological soiling i.e. staining, paint or graffiti.
• Fire and/or water damage.
• Surface damage caused by air pollutants i.e. black crusts.
